ICEC Conference 2025
Addressing Diversity and Equity in ECEC: Converging Trends in European Countries?
Date: Tuesday 30. September 2025 (1 - 8 pm) – Wednesday 1. Oktober 2025 (9 am - 2 pm)
Location: GLS Campus, Kastanienallee 82, 10435 Berlin
Presentations in German or Englisch are provided with simultaneous translation.
Participation in the conference is free of charge.
Photos and video recordings will be taken during the conference (see note below).
The International Centre Early Childhood Education and Care (ICEC) at the German Youth
Institute (DJI) invites you to explore the following questions together with stakeholders from
politics, professional practice and science from Germany and abroad:
- How do ECEC policies and systems respond to growing diversity among children?
- How do ECEC centres and professionals meet the needs of vulnerable groups?
- What are policy levers for achieving equity and support for all children, even in a
context of limited budgets and a shortage of qualified staff?
We will be taking photographs and recording videos during our conference. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please inform the person taking the photograph or recording the video, or contact the representative on site.
Purpose and use of the recordings
We make the recordings in order to document our event visually and to report on our event afterwards.
