An Equal-Rights Policy Also Requires a Youth Welfare Policy Based on Equal Rights

The ‘removal of all forms of discrimination and violence against girls’ is the major topic being addressed by the UN Women’s Rights Commission in 2007. In this context, this project is producing texts in which relevant aspects of the disadvantaging of girls in Europe, and in Germany in particular, are identified.

Among other things, a report on girls and another report on boys were produced by the end of February 2007. The Federal Ministry for the Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Young People provided support for the project and is planning to publish both the report on girls and the report on boys, versions of which are available in both German and English. Young Female Report:Young Male Report:You find a combined report titled "Mädchen und Jungen in Deutschland" looking at http://www.bmfsfj.de/Publikationen. Per mail you may inquire about a printed version (only german) of publikationen@bundesregierung.de.
