Concept and methodology

The IzKK supplies a wide range of services in the fields of information, consultancy and network support. The fundamental activity underpinning all else is the acquisition of data by means of field and sources research, by analysis of specialist articles, studies, project descriptions, programmes and (multiprofessional) networks, and also through project observations and interviews. Evaluation of data obtained is based on expert knowledge, but also guided by criteria of actual need and of relevance to professional practice. Over and above the evaluation and classification of the information collected, it is also collated and redacted for maximum user benefit. Differing specialist requirements entail customised strategies of data communication.

Services provided by the information centre (information; scientific consultancy; cooperation, network services, literature database, specialist presentations, specialist publications) are addressed to all groups of individuals and professional groups whose work is concerned with the fields of child abuse and child neglect. The IzKK’s work is guided by the differing requirements of the specialists in these fields, requirements arising from the multifarious nature of the issues and of the specific areas of professional practice involved.
