Predictors of Re-victimization Following Investigations into Suspected Child Maltreatment in England and Germany: A Comparative and Ecological Perspective

Datum: 20. März 2024 13:00 Uhr - 14:40 Uhr

One of the aims of child protection is to protect children from maltreatment—in particular, re-victimization. Project HESTIA offers a compelling exploration into child maltreatment re-victimization, comparing English and German child protection systems. The study analyzed 779 case files from two countries, focusing on repeated child maltreatment referrals within 12 months after closure of investigation, offering key insights into re-victimization patterns. Utilizing an ecological model, it examines various factors ranging from child characteristics and family background to socio-economic and systemic influences.
