Gender Unit

Within the DJI, interdisciplinary gender research is conceived as a cross-divisional and cross-functional brief. The Gender Unit advises and supports staff on subject-specific issues as well as in the development of new gender-specific questions and project ideas. Another focus is the systematic observation and analysis of current national and international debate on gender in research, politics and practice.

The unit coordinates the cross-divisional Gender Working Group. It plans and organizes workshops, professional development programmes and conferences on gender themes. In the area of PR and policy consultation, the unit is a contact partner that handles enquiries from the areas of politics, science and professional practice.
