Research on children, young people and families
Research at the DJI is divided into five areas. The three divisions Children (K), Youth (J) and Family (F) are each divided into four research departments (RD). DJI survey research is based in the Centre of Social Monitoring and Methodology (Z). The results of large-scale surveys such as the DJI Survey "Growing up in Germany" (AID:A)[1] serve the purpose of ongoing social reporting. The projects on youth transitions form a separate research unit (FSP). The Gender Unit and the Children and Youth Policy Unit form part of the institute management.
