DJI-Kolloquium - Online per Webex

Effective mental health and psychosocial support practices for the integration of refugee adolescents in education settings

Datum: 12. Dezember 2022 14:00 Uhr - 16:00 Uhr

Many young people who have been forcibly displaced have experienced considerable
adversity and trauma before and during migration. Schools can play a crucial role in the postarrival and resettlement stages, by supporting young refugees to acclimatise to a new
society. Indeed, schools are often the main societal institution in the receiving country with
which refugee adolescents and their families interact. This presentation will discuss the role
of schools in supporting adolescent refugees during resettlement.

mental health, sense of belonging, and academic achievement of children and young people
who are refugees, asylum seekers, or separated minors.
